Job Description

Working from their office in the heart of Rotterdam the Demand Planner is responsible for all forecasting activities associated with customers and products. Based on the commercial plans the Demand Planner leads the S&OP process in order to fulfil the demand at the required service levels and the financial planning. This role is responsible for all inbound activities (from sourcing to local distribution center) and intercompany transport planning. The Demand Planner is the first point to contact to manage 3rd party logistics providers and vendors. This role reports to the Supply Chain Manager.

Key responsibilities 

Volume & IC Planning

  • Develop effective forecast models based on trends and demand patterns on both operational and tactical horzon (base, seasonal and promotion planning).
  • Work closely with all factories to ensure correctness of volumes and timings of goods delivery for customers

Leading the monthly S&OP Cycle

  • Interact with sales, marketing, and finance to understand demand forecast drivers and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts (demand creation and consolidation).

Inventory Management

  • Manage finished goods & co-packing inventory to balance the need for safety stock and perishible inventory.
  • Weekly stock reconciliation and solving identified disrepancies.

Manage 3rd Pary Logistics Providers

  • Manage 3re party logistics providers and vendors for warehousing, transportation and co-packing.



  • 3-5 years of experience within FMCG supply chain/operations/logistics environment
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Problem solver, thinks in opportunities and challenges
  • Quality driven: accuracy, efficiency and professionalism are key attributes required
  • Highly independent worker, hands-on, self-starting, self-motivating
  • Extensive knowledge of ERP systems (must SAP R/3/ APO DP/SNP)
  • Knowlegde of IBP, BW and COGNOS is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office is a must. MS Excel analysis work and MS PowerPoint slide deck preparing and presentation are important parts of this role
  • Commerical understanding
  • Customer focused, able to constructively challenge
  • Strong drive towards customer statisfaction and operational excellence
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to influence and operational excellence
  • Very strong team player in an international Benelux team
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Dutch/German/Frensh are nice to have and woud surely help in this role
