International Production Company is looking for a Global Supply Chain Director, Belgium

Contract type

Antwerp, Brussels, Belgium

About company

We are currently working for a world leading company, globally active in the agro / chemical industry. The COO and HR director are looking to hire a Global Supply Chain Director to join the ranks. Whereas this position was previously managed by a director ad interim (who is still there), it is time to get someone on board who wants to go for the long run and drive / develop the supply chain, setting out short term goals and long term strategies.

After a year where covid-19 hit the global economy hard, our client has managed to limit the impact and everything considered, they had pretty decent results. 2021 then again shows great promise with a continuation of a strong M&A strategy where the yearly revenue should have a minimum increase of 10% and a prognosis of a lot more. Big numbers tell us that there is work to be done.

Job Description

The company’s strategy is to build a strong & centralised supply chain organisation in Belgium (Mechelen) and get a seasoned director on board to manage not only the end 2 end scope but he/she will play a leading role in the realisation of strategic projects. Given the recent acquisitions there will be supply chain synergies that you can analyse and take advantage of. Network design and optimisation. On the other hand you will lead a project to improve supply chain efficiency through standardisation of processes and integration of the subsidiaries into the main erp-tool. Data interaction and communication is key to create transparency within your supply chain. A challenge indeed, for the right person. And this is when we start talking about you.

  • You have experience on an international level managing different supply chain flows. Our client uses own production facilities and contract manufacturers. You have managed 3rd parties before and know how to negotiate. Having seen the inside of a chemical plant comes in handy. And last but not least, traded goods. Key supplier in distress, you are in charge. Exciting right? I know.
  • Experience in network optimisation and leading consolidation projects, inventory management & cost reduction processes is a requirement.
  • You will work closely together with the regional General Managers and will report to the COO.
  • You will manage an international team, 20 strong.
  • Languages: Dutch and English

What we offer

If you want to be strategically involved on a global level, this is the place. They want you to bring your expertise and make the organisation a better version of itself. This means there is room, not only for improvements but for you and what you have to offer as a supply chain director.

We are looking at 110K – 140K EUR + fringe benefits. Invoicing is an option.

Interested? Send me your application on and I will come back to you asap.
