This company is looking for a Freight Coordinator to join the Logistics team. In this role you are responsible for the optimal organization and management of all EU transports with logistic service providers. On a daily basis you are in direct contact with suppliers, carries and customers. As well as the offices worldwide and of course the various departments within the company, such as Trade, Finance & Quality Assurance. You can easily respond to market signals. You like working in an international environment, you are stress resistant and always looking for process improvements. You identify potential roadblocks in time and you are able to solve them adequately.
Attention to detail, a proactive attitude and a highly developed organizational ability are essential here. You guarantee the service and quality throughout the entire process.

Job Description

As their new Freight Coordinator you:
• Arrange transport on regular lanes with contracted carriers.
• Source transport for irregular lanes and negotiate best price/quality.
• Arrange a weekly planning and monthly forecast with the contracted carriers.
• Manage seasonal peaks in a pro-active manner together with carriers, prepare and attend operational meetings.
• Receive deviations / irregularities from transport companies and take required actions.
• Create and exchange all required transport documents and information with logistic service providers.
• Handle and register all transport-cost related items i.e. waiting hours, weekend surcharges, etc.
• Initiate improvements in cooperation with Supply Chain Management and Logistics in order to achieve operational excellence.

Requirements

Your profile

• Completed MBO+ education, preferably in Logistics or contiguous field.
• You are a real team player, who is stress proof, flexible, accurate and service oriented.
• Your communications skills in both Dutch and English are excellent. A foreign language such as French, German is an advantage.
• Experienced in international operational (dynamic) business environments.
