Job Description

Execute daily transport related operations for one of the companies customers. Responsible for monitoring outbound operations, customer service and act as resolute problem solver. Be the first and main contact for the customer and their customers for day to day operations. Next to the daily operational tasks you are main contact person to guide operational changes based upon your tactical insight and knowledge.


They are looking for a fulltime logistics coordinator (outbound) as part of the Transport team located at Rotterdam.

Key activities of the logistics coordinator are:

Outbound process

  • Monitor delivery progress in accordance with key performance indicators;
  • Investigate on exceptions of the standard delivery process and disturbance;
  • Act as a contact person for Order Desk, sales subsidiaries and purchase planners;
  • Act as a contact person for 3pl logistics partners;
  • Arrange special transport for high value orders and special orders;
  • Answer questions regarding order situation, administrative bookings, customer requirements, distribution conditions and documentation in order to provide an optimum service level;
  • Perform ad hoc tasks and answer to special requests;
  • Gather documentation for Ex-Work (Depot) shipments
  • Share daily report of deliveries with incidents with sales subs and internal customer;
  • Actions that are required for deliveries with incidents with the 3pl logistics partners;

 Reporting & Analyzing

  • Analyze the outbound order flow, check for bottlenecks and implement improvements when possible;
  • Create cost saving reports, requirements internal customer;
  • Create and share weekly report of the performances of the 3pl logistics partners;

Requested Support

  • Claims departments on missing or damaged deliveries
  • Return departments on request
  • Projects (MBO Business opportunities)


For this role they are looking for a candidate with a positive and enthusiastic mindset, passion for logistics and strong motivation. Someone who has the capabilities to build up a strong relationship with all stakeholders involved and provide outstanding customer service. The ideal candidate is a decisive and flexible problem-solver with a strong hands-on mentality that is used to work in teams, but can also work independently.

  • Bachelor degree (preferably logistics)
  • Starter, of maximum 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • Good Microsoft Excel skills
  • Pre = ERP knowledge
  • Analytical skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • English in speaking and writing
  • Ability to prioritize multiple requests and responsibilities in a fast paced environment
