Stroom is looking to hire the right Program Manager (PMO) to support the steering committee of a strong, industrial company with a global merger. This is a project for at least 18 months. 

Recent changes in shareholder structure gave way for an interesting opportunity to merge the company and its organisation with a competitor in the market (company owned by new shareholders). After long talks the decision is made, signatures are put on paper and white smoke arises. The merger is agreed upon and the practical integration takes place in the next two years.  

We are talking about activities in 30 countries worldwide and a combined revenue of +700 million euros.  

They have appointed three different levels to manage the merger:  

Level 1: Steering committee consisting of the Group CEO, COO and company shareholder representatives. Occupied with the most strategic aspects and decisions of the merger.  

Level 2: Head office group: consisting of different representatives of all the departments (HR, IT, finance, supply chain, sales, marketing, …) and responsible for making decisions on department related subjects and internal & external communication.  

Level 3: SWAT-team: responsible for hands-on integration of the two companies. Practical side of the projects.  

Job Description

We are currently hiring a Program Manager who will fluently interact with all three levels but most of all will support the steering committee and head office group in making strategic decisions. To help them defining the ‘as is’ situation and the ‘to be’ designs and eventually implement these designs.  

The Program Manager will lead the Project Management Office, a team consisting of different people, subject matter experts, business representatives and project managers partaking in these projects. The objective is to put a ‘one way of working’ in place, to bring a methodological approach to the project life cycle management, to build the right operating standards and to maintain them (based on KPI’s dealing with quality, consistency, timeframe, etc) and to put tools in place to support the teams.  

Requirements

The Program Manager we need, is it you?  

  • You have broad project & program experience in a complex environment  
  • You have experience with one (or several) mergers preferably in similar sized enterprises (M&A) 
  • No specific silo-background needed (supply chain, finance, HR, …)  
  • Of course: fluent in English, very international assignment 
  • Willing to travel, not too much but on occasion
