Job Description
They asked us to hire the new Strategic Category Manager. Their ambition is to double their sales in the coming 3 years and although it’s a mature company with a sound client base, it will the first time they hire someone as a procurement leader. Focus is not so much to push prices down. The challenges ahead are to create a purchasing strategy, lead the international team of operational buyers, streamline the ordering & supply chain process (high vs low runners, impact of ordering process on inventory, … in other words, create procurement analytics), implement a new digital procurement system, establish good working relationships with suppliers, … in other words to set-up a lean way of procurement.
Requirements
We are looking for someone hands-on and strategically minded. An intelligent and empathic person who can lead a strategy meeting but can also help one of his or her buyers when he or she is stuck in a discussion about prices, quality or availability. You need to be digitally savy, motivated to help the company grow and have the ability to lead a team.
In this role you will directly report to the General Manager.
