About company

For a promising Belgian scale-up in the world of medical devices we are looking for someone with broad experience in the supply chain planning field to set up their global supply chain from scratch. The company was founded in 2012 and developed a new technology that, according to research, has been proven to be substantially better than the products currently on the market. With their first product launch coming in only 24 months, time is on to build a flexible but resilient supply chain that is able to deliver.

We met with the Executive Assistant of the CEO and the Head of Procurement & Supply Chain, two lovely ladies who were able to convey their enthusiasm for the company and their product to a point where we got quite excited ourselves. The headquarters are located near Hasselt, where the global team meets for several days (3) twice a month. There is a culture of great pride and willingness to bring this unique and newly developed technology to the market. We’d like someone equally passionate to join as their Supply Chain Planning Lead.

Job Description

Together with the Head of Procurement & Supply Chain, someone with years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, you will ensure that their supply chain is set up – for all future launches of their products. You get complete carte blanche to do so; first launch will focus on the US market, whereupon other markets will follow (Europe, Asia Pacific, etc.).

The role concerns a broad range of responsibilities where you will manage the full end 2 end supply chain, which is quite complex. This is because the product consists out of a lot of different components, which also means that there are many different suppliers. You will start by determining which ERP system will be used, set up forecasting & supply planning, manage the contracting manufacturers & co-packaging, import and export, inventory management, and so on.

Think solving questions like: what will the demand for our product launch be? How much inventory will we need? How do we get it on time in full to the nearest warehouse? You name it.

Requirements

– You hold a Master’s degree and have at least 7 years of experience in a supply chain related position in health care/medical devices;

– You have experience with new product introduction, project management and work accurately in ERP systems;

– You are a true entrepreneur with a vision to build a global supply chain – and who can also put this into practice;

– Someone who remains calm under time pressure and has great stakeholder management skills.

What we offer

You will have the opportunity to work from scratch on a global story with great potential. Because they are backed up by a major investor, you will join a financially strong company which provides a secure scale-up environment.

Salary depends on experience and attitude also plays an important role in this story. We are not looking for a title hunter – but someone who can put his feet firmly in the sand and wants to offer a strong backbone to the company. Especially given its flat internal structure.
